SPEAKER | Ronnie Beggs, VP SQLstream | LinkedIn

GUEST SPEAKER | Damian Black | LinkedIn

Cisco predicts there will be upwards of 50 billion connected devices worldwide by 2020, and each of these devices will be connected to the Internet and generate a wealth of data. The estimates put 2020 data production at 40 zettabytes of data daily – more data than can physically be stored.  For many that’s a good sign as data has been proven to equal money. However, if the data cannot all be stored how can it be processed?  Even with Big Data storage technology such as Hadoop, these platforms are unable to deliver low latency, real-time responses to drive automated processes.
This webinar will investigate how real-time smart IoT services can be delivered as an extension of existing data storage platforms and enterprise systems, and explore alternative architectures such as stream processing while answering the following questions:
  • What is the Internet of Things, and why should we care?
  • What are the main areas most likely to experience rapid growth?
  • What are the impediments to the development of IoT smart services?
  • What are the main concerns regarding IoT implementations?
  • What are the data management requirements for IoT services, and how can they be addressed cost-effectively?

Bloor Briefing Room: Stream Processing & Real-time Analytics

The Briefing Room with John Myers and SQLstream

Many of today’s opportunities and challenges come and go faster than a data warehouse can perform. That’s one reason why streaming analytics is taking off. For all kinds of Big Data, streaming analytics can provide business value instantaneously. Whether it’s detecting fraud and security threats before serious damage is done, protecting critical network infrastructure, knowing which offer to make to a high-value customer, or correcting service quality, streaming analytics can provide operational solutions in real time.

Register for this episode of The Briefing Room to hear distinguished industry analyst John Myers of Enterprise Management Associates explain the changing dynamics of modern analytics. He’ll be briefed by CEO Damian Black of SQLstream, who will discuss his company’s streaming Big Data platform and its new, standards-based approach to streaming analytics. The SQLstream platform provides scalable levels of continuous visibility into a wide range of machine Big Data, including log files, sensors, networks, services and devices. Black will also detail their latest offerings: streaming dashboards, and StreamApp templates — pre-configured streaming application components for specific industries such as telecoms, financial services and transportation. Damian will be joined by Christian Lees, CTO of InfoArmor, who will present a case study on internet security.

AMERICAS | 12.5 | Real Time + Communication Service Providers= Monetizing Big Data with Streaming Analytics

SPEAKER | Ronnie Beggs, VP SQLstream | LinkedIn

GUEST SPEAKER | Chris Clabaugh | LinkedIn

As the flow of mobile data traffic engulfs wireless networks, carriers large and small suddenly find themselves sitting on a goldmine of CDR, customer, device and network data that, if actioned correctly, holds the keys to greater customer intimacy, and in a broader sense, the successful future and evolution of telecom providers.

The telecommunications industry is being transformed by the next generation of IP voice and video services, 4G networks, small cell networks and service delivery platforms. The records produced by every call and session, the CDRs or IPDRs, offer invaluable information that can be used for real-time billing and policy-driven session management, fraud prevention, quality of service monitoring and location-based services. Yet as CDR and IPDR volumes increase dramatically, extracting the intelligence requires the collection and analysis of high-velocity Big Data streams on a massive scale. This webinar presents how CDR and IPDR records can be collected and analyzed in real time for entire networks, services and customer bases.

Topics covered:

  • Collection and processing high volume, high velocity CDR data streams,
  • Turning intelligence into actionable information – driving QoS, policy management and fraud prevention,
  • The power for streaming data management for real-time operational intelligence,
  • Industry use cases for maximizing the value of CDR data.

Predict and Avert: Using Log File Data to Prevent Cybersecurity and Fraud Attacks in Real Time

Presenter: Damian Black, CEO | LinkedIn

Guest speaker: Christian Lees, CTO InfoArmor | LinkedIn

The growth of identity theft, sophisticated fraud and unknown, persistent and adaptive threats represents a new and real challenge for existing enterprise IT and security intelligence systems. Many organizations do not have the visibility across their technology and business silos- so, despite their existing security protection infrastructure, they’re unable to find these difficult-to-detect attacks and threats. Existing log monitoring and SIEM tools are no longer effective, and don’t have the real-time performance and flexibility required for the task.

This webinar talks about gaining operational intelligence for the lowest total cost of performance. Integration and analysis of high velocity unstructured log and Internet data feeds from a large variety of sources in real-time is addressed, as well as the application of multiple, sophisticated rules for detecting identify theft, fraud and cybersecurity attacks.

In this webinar, participants gained valuable insights into:

  • Today’s Internet Intelligence market,
  • Extracting the value of your log data in real-time,
  • The power of streaming SQL and operational intelligence for real-time actionable insights,
  • Industry case studies for identity theft monitoring, fraud and cybersecurity.
