Unlike IBM PC 5150 now you can take your personal PC in your pocket. Yes, we already heard that Raspberry Pi invented a Pen Drive size portable computer which is powered by an ARM SoC, and it’s almost in production. Raspberry Pi will introduce two models, the low-end device will cost $25 and the high-end will cost $35. The low-end Raspberry Pi PC has a 700MHz ARM11 processor with 128MB RAM ($35 version as 256MB RAM), the device is fully compatible with 1080p high-profile decode. Recently Raspberry Pi team announced to the public this PC will feature a Broadcom BCM2835 chipset inside the device. This low price Broadcom BCM2835 SoC is a single core ARM11 processor runs at 700MHz but Broadcom integrates a dual-core VideoCore IV GPU which has twice the performance of the iPhone 4S GPU (iPhone 4S has a PowerVR 543MP2 GPU). iPhone 4S GPU is the powerful GPU currently you can find in the market which produces 12.8 GFLOPS of power at 200GHz (at 300MHz 19.2 GFLOPS).

. Executive director Eben Upton at Broadcom explains, “I believe Broadcom has the best mobile GPU developing team in the world, and Broadcom uses the tile mode architecture for their latest ARM SoC’s which can kill powerful GPU chips like Tegra 2, PowerVR and Mali easily”. Recently Raspberry Pi posted a video at their blog, this portable PC runs the XBMC very smoothly and they demonstrated how this device is powerful enough to run h.264 1080p Blu-ray quality at 30 frames per second. According to Broadcom data this GPU consumes less power and high performance OpenGL-ES 1.1/2.0 VideoCore GPU. 1 Gigapixel per second fill rate. Broadcom BCM2835 chipset is compatible up to 20 megapixel cameras sensors. I hope Raspberry Pi personal PC will available worldwide and I'm really excited to test it out.
