AutoMapIt Site Map Creation

I signed up for AutoMapIt on 6/19 to generate a sitemap. I did not set up the option to have this site upload the file to my web server via FTP. I would like to download the file instead. When I logged in today, AutoMapIt indicated that my site crawl was done. So I went to "download on demand" and clicked the Google button. I saved the file to my machine, but all it contains is the xml header info. No data about my site. Any advice?

Hello Mindy,

After reviewing your website, I see that this domain is redirecting to a secure page right off the bat. Since this changes the URLs, sitemap protocol will not allow them in a sitemap under your non-secure domain name.

Since secure URLs are safely considered to be private URLs, AutoMapIt and many other crawlers will not work on secure pages. Alexa will not count traffic to secure pages which is why AutoMapIt doesn't have better Alexa ranking... the entire user area of AutoMapIt uses secure URLs. These secure URLs do not show up on my sitemaps, in Google, and they aren't counted toward my Alexa rank.

To get better exposure of your site, you will need to make some pages that are not secure.
