Renesas SuperH SH7705 32-bit RISC microprocessor
[Vendor: Renesas Technology Corp.]

The SH7705 is a true high-performance ultra-low-power microprocessor based on one of the world's leading 32-/64-bit RISC architectures, the SH-3 SuperH RISC CPU core, boasting a current consumption of just 1mA per 1MHz.

With a comprehensive set of on-chip peripheral and 32-Kbyte of on-chip cache memory the SH7705 will enable the implementation of high-performance, low-power-consumption digital home appliances, portable information devices, and office appliances such as fax machines and colour printers. The peripheral set on the SH7705 includes a USB Function including a USB transceiver, high-speed serial interfaces with a 64-byte FIFO (First In First Out), a MMU (Memory Management Unit) and DMAC, a memory interface such as synchronous DRAM, and an IrDA (Infrared Data Association) Version 1.0 interface for infrared communication. Control, interrupt, and bulk transfers are supported by the USB function, with a fast data transfer capability of maximum 12 Mbps (bits per second).

The SH7705 is available in two packages, a 28 mm x 28 mm, 208-pin LQFP and a 12 mm x 12 mm, 208-pin Chip Scale Package (CSP). On-chip debugging functions (H-UDI and AUD) are incorporated, enabling real-time emulation to be carried out at the maximum operating frequency using a JTAG emulator.

Support is available for operation of the device under Linux, as well as several other popular embedded operating systems.
